Movies that Aren't Too Shabby

So, you're at the movie rental store and you know that you're going to rent something.  You're just not sure if it'll be good enough to spend a couple of hours with.  Then you come across a title that makes you think, "Ol' Joe Curwen wrote about it and said that it doesn't suck too badly.  In fact, he said that he enjoyed it.  His taste isn't that weird.  I think I'll give it a shot."  That's this category.  If I'm stuck for something to watch, I'll consider the movies on this list.  There's something in each one that keeps you entertained long enough to prevent you from pulling the plug.

When you watch a movie, you usually have to suspend your concept of reality.  That is unless the film pretends to be "based on true events" or present a "historical" retelling of actual events.  When it's pure fiction, my standard is that it can't violate its own rules.  When the rules are new, I've gone so far in my opinions as to list the rules as I understand them.

As for the movies themselves, they're not necessarily top prize winners.  But they each have something about them that elevates them out of the trash bin.

Here are the movies that are not too shabby.  Not all have accompanying notes at this time, but they will.
